Star Ruby

Fine star rubies are found primarily in Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Thailand, and parts of East Africa.

Because the star effect depends on the gemstone’s natural internal structure, high-quality star rubies are exceedingly rare. Many stones may undergo traditional heat treatment to enhance color and clarity, though untreated examples displaying a vivid natural star are among the most prized collector gemstones in the world.
